Ecolodge

Cultural and architectural heritage

The house, built in 1928 with adobe and rammed earth, is an example of typical Cuyo rural architecture. It was the first dwelling in Barreal and bore the name “Los Andes”. At the time, it belonged to Mr. Adán Araya and his wife, Adila. The current owners of the large house, which had been neglected for several years, bought it in 2007. They immediately began work to recycle, restore and consolidate the existing structure and to build bathrooms. Thus, it became a model of local Cuyo architectural conservation. It is an Ecolodge because we seek to minimize the environmental impact of our activity by reducing, reusing and recycling.
